Who will I be in jail with?
County Jails are no fun and they are full of criminals of every type. It is not a place to look forward to visiting. Once you are cuffed and carted to jail, you will be placed in a holding cell with other eligible inmates. These people will be a random and eclectic mix of people from all walks of life.
When I was in jail, there were mostly petty thieves and low level drug addicts. There were a few inmates that were in on slightly harder charges but, they were just waiting for transportation, often called a train or a chain, to the State Jail or Penitentiary. I was housed in the general population under the lowest level of security in a dorm rather than a cell . Most of my cellmates were well behaved but, we were put on lock-down behind some bullshit a time or two
I wanted to give you a general idea of the types of people you may be locked up with. They range from friendly to frightened and angry to anxious no matter their size shape or color.
Watch as inmates are booked into county jail
Meet the dumbest of possible cellmates. People get arrested for a variety of things but sometimes, the criminals are just not very bright.
You may get a nervous young person in on a minor charge
Sometimes your bunkie may be just a scared geeky gamer
or a nervous talker
Most are just trying to get through a quick stay (fast forward through the first three minutes if you want to get to the real jail parts)
Some may be intoxicated
Please share your first hand experience in county jail and tell me about your cellmates.
